Mormon, the historian and abridger, noted that in this record he could not include even “a hundredth part” of all that his predecessors wrote (see also commentary at Words of Mormon 1:5 and 3 Nephi 26:6–11), though interestingly he attested that “there are records which do contain all the proceedings of this people.” Someday we will have all those records the Lord has preserved.
