Verses 14 and 15 should be read together. The Lamanites become Nephites, and then their “skin became white like unto the Nephites.” This change in the “skin color” raises an interesting question. One of the predictions of Nephi concerning the Lamanites had to do with this “white skin:” (the pure in verse 6 as it exists in the 1981 edition has been returned to the white of the 1830 edition for the purposes of this comparison).
