“The People Began to Wax Strong in Wickedness and Abominations”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

How quickly people forget! The tragedy of September 11, which in 2001 dramatically galvanized the United States of America into a unity of patriotism and a turning to God not seen since World War II, was also quickly forgotten in the succeeding months and years, as many people returned to their worldly concerns and false sense of security.

Hardened hearts and blinded minds tend to ignore God and disparage, malign, and discredit his doctrine, at the same time supporting and promoting the ways of wickedness—and the message here is that it can happen quickly in any society.
