“And They Began to Fear Because of Their Iniquity and Their Unbelief”

W. Cleon Skousen

The night without darkness was not only a literal and thrilling fulfillment of the prophecy by Samuel the Lamanite but it came as a frightening shock treatment to many of the non-believers that they had not only be wrong, but that before long the great destruction which Samuel had predicted in Helaman 14:20-29 would accompany the death of Jesus. These emotionally unstable people fell to the ground as though the destruction was already upon them. And this gripping impact not only struck down the people in the land southward but it had the same effect on the entire continent including the land northward.
