“They Were Filled As if with Fire”

The reception of the Holy Ghost is the baptism of fire spoken of in the scriptures (see Matthew 3:11; 2 Nephi 31:13, 17; Moses 6:66; see also Commentary 1:364). They were baptized with fire, but, in the words of the Savior, “they knew it not” (3 Nephi 9:20).
