Why did they forsake their homelands in order to live among the Nephites, who valued and protected freedom? What blessings and responsibilities come to those who live in countries that protect extensive freedoms of their people? How would it be if every government allowed “each individual the free exercise of conscience, the right and control of property, and the protection of life”? (D&C 134:2).
