Helaman teaches his sons how to establish and follow spiritual priorities: i.e., to seek eternal things rather than the things of the world. Our “treasure in heaven” is to seek to build up the kingdom of God—to aspire to support and advance the cause of Deity in bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of God’s children (see Moses 1:39). Everything else fades away into nothingness.
