“They Could Not Be Governed by the Law nor Justice, Save It Were to Their Destruction”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The people had become so wicked that the voice of the people chose only that which was evil. As a result they turned from just laws and righteous principles and would not be governed by such. The voice of the people desired that they be governed by those principles that the righteous leaders knew would surely lead to physical captivity, destruction, and ultimately spiritual death.
