“Ripening for Destruction”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The government of the Nephites was “ripening for destruction” because the majority of the people were evil, were choosing evil leaders, and were corrupting good laws and framing evil ones. They had reached the point of which King Mosiah had warned: “And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you” (Mosiah 29:27).
