When the defeated Lamanites went limping back down to Nephi and reported to Amalickiah that they had not only been defeated but their commanders had all been killed, the reaction of Amalickiah was predictable. He not only vented his outrage on the Lamanite soldiers, but he cursed God and swore with an oath that someday he would kill Moroni and drink his blood.
