Zerahemnah is less than honorable in pressing the attack immediately, and Mormon half-excuses him with the explanation that he was “angry.” But Zerahemnah was also clearly disadvantaged because Moroni was well protected by his troops.

Culture: While scalping is better known for the northeastern United States and the Great Plains tribes, scalping was not unique to that region and not foreign to Mesoamerica. It is depicted as part of Maya warfare.
