“Let These Things Trouble You No More”

Brant Gardner

Alma had begun this discussion to clarify a theological confusion that had apparently led Corianton into apostasy. Corianton’s understanding is now clear on the role of Yahweh’s justice. “These things” need no longer “trouble” him.

Alma then puns on “troubled” to tell Corianton he should be “troubled” or stirred by the Spirit to seek repentance. Corianton must not only understand justice’s role but must act to claim the mercy that will deliver him from the eternal “grasp” of that justice.
