What became the nature of man after the Fall?

Thomas R. Valletta

The Savior explained to his apostles and disciples why some people get angry and violent when the truth is preached: “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. … If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you. … He that hateth me hateth my Father also” (John 15:18–23).

Would we be as brave in a similar situation? Why do you think the people of Ammon did not fear the Zoramites? (see Alma 24:16–19). What is the relationship between the level of our obedience and our susceptibility to fear? What do you know about the power of God that makes the threats of the wicked less troubling? What can you do to be able to face with more faith and less fear the difficult times prophesied for our future?
