The Lord Giveth to All Nations That Which He Seeth Fit That They Should Have

Daniel H. Ludlow

Sometimes it is difficult to understand why some groups of people are given so much more knowledge than other groups, especially when one remembers we are all children of our Heavenly Father and thus are spiritual brothers and sisters to each other. However, we should remember that we will be judged according to that knowledge and those opportunities which we have. Thus, simply because one group of people has less knowledge or understanding than another does not mean they are less worthy or righteous. Alma says: " . . . the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue . . . all that he seeth fit that they should have." (Alma 29:8.) We should not presume to judge why God deals with nations the way that he does, but should acknowledge that this is all done in the wisdom and justice of God.
