We can think of no more perfect illustration of the “mighty change of heart” spoken of by Alma than that illustrated by these converted Lamanites, who now refuse to take up arms against those who would slay them (see Alma 5:12-14). Theirs is an uncompromising confidence in the promises of God and a love for their brethren (who have now declared themselves their enemies) that exceeds their love for their own mortal lives.
