Aaron, like Ammon, begins by attempting to establish a baseline of common belief. (See commentary accompanying Alma 18:26–27.) That belief begins with God as the creator of all things. By linking Yahweh to the Great Spirit, Aaron can use the king’s beliefs about that god to help him understand the gospel message.
