The king’s curiosity at a stack of arms is completely normal. Furthermore, given the past history of attempting to water flocks at the waters of Sebus, he would have been expecting a very different outcome—although possibly, this is the one he had actually been hoping for. The gruesome trophies were evidence that a dramatic change had occurred in the political contest.
