“I Say Unto You There Be Many Things to Come”

In Alma 7:7 Alma declares: "For behold, I say unto you there be many things to come; and behold, there is one thing which is of more importance than they all--for behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people." Joseph Smith taught that "the fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it" (Teachings, p. 121). If such is the case, how could God be just if he did not declare this "thing which is of more importance than they all" from the beginning of man?
