“A Great Trial to Those That Did Stand Fast in the Faith”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
It is not easy to stand by and watch friends and loved ones, former members of the household of faith, lose the Spirit and eventually forsake the faith. It is painful to observe people as they spiritually self-destruct, but after all efforts to plead and persuade have failed we must allow for individual agency. And we must bear with patience the persecutions and taunts of others.
