“A Strict Law Among the People of the Church”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The Saints of the Most High are called to declare the glad tidings of the gospel. They are not called to malign or attack the faith and religious persuasions of others. Truth stands on its own and does not require the cheap crutch of criticism of alternate systems of belief. In the words of Elder Marvin J. Ashton:

“We have no time for contention. We only have time to be about our Father’s business.” (CR, April 1978, p. 9.) Further, members of the Church of Christ are counseled, “Strengthen your brethren in all your conversation, in all your prayers, in all your exhortations, and in all your doings” (D&C 108:7).
