“The First Time That Priestcraft Has Been Introduced”
Though Nephi had defined priestcraft and warned of its consequences more than four centuries earlier (see 2 Nephi 26:29), it appears that Nehor was the first in the Nephite society to put it into practice. And in his case he sought to enforce it through a cruel murder.
