Notice that Nehor was arrogant and defiant. He didn't even want an attorney but insisted on pleading his own case. However, when Alma had heard the charges and listened to Nehor's contemptuous reply, the chief judge was ready to render his verdict and pronounce judgment. In volume two of Treasures from the Book of Mormon on page 164 is a portrayal of Nehor being judged by Alma.
