“Being Commanded of God to Pray Without Ceasing”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Alma and his associate brethren in the Priesthood labored diligently teaching and exhorting the members of the Church to walk uprightly before God, as they, themselves, did. This brought persecution upon Church members, and, with it, "all manner of afflictions," but their strength increased so that they withstood the wicked designs of their tormentors.

Those holding the Holy Priesthood admonished their brethren in kindness, reproving the erring one humbly, and the sinful one with much love. They were directed in all things by the Word they received from the Almighty Father, and whether it came to them by the ministry of angels or through the Seers who had preceded them, they always adhered to the instructions they thus received.

Alma taught all to pray "without ceasing," and to give thanks to God for the blessings they enjoyed.
