Alma, only recently having joined the Saints in Zarahemla, was not acquainted with all the conditions to be found among them. He was alarmed at the sudden disclosure to him of the wickedness abounding there, and was depressed by its terrible forebodings. He, however, did not lose heart although a great number of witnesses made solemn declarations of its existence.
