Social: We have here the growing problem of the divisions in the people over the nature of religion.
Alma is given authority over the churches, and therefore there is a separate power structure relegated to the churches that is separate from that governing the rest of society. Even though Alma operates under the direction and authority of Mosiah, his very empowerment separates the nature of government in ways it had never been done before. This dissention will highlight the problems of the division in the society.
