“The Records of Zeniff to His People”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

History gives us cause to both lament and rejoice. It is as the voice of a wise parent. In it we find meaning and direction. Through it we find courage and purpose. By giving heed to the lessons of the past we can be warned and spared, or by ignoring those lessons we create the need for having them retaught with painful clarity. The value of accurate records, the importance of both sacred and secular history, can hardly be overstated.
