Who were those among the Lamanites not considered "their own brethren" (Mosiah 24:7)? According to John Sorenson, "it seems to me that plunderable 'others' of non-Lehite stock may have been at odds with the (real) Lamanites and thus had come into conflict with them" (compare Mormon 8:8).
