“Amulon Did Gain Favor in the Eyes of the King”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Amulon and the former priests of Noah, possibly because of their Lamanitish wives, soon gained great favor with King Laman, and were made teachers to his people. Laman, who was king over a large area in the Land of Lehi, had the same name as did his father, and ruled a numerous people. In his domain were the Lands of Shemlon and Shilom, which were near the City of Lehi-Nephi. The Sacred Record also mentions the Land of Amulon, apparently the place where the priests had formerly made their homes. King Laman appointed subservient kings, or chiefs, over each of these divisions.
