“The King Was Pacified Towards His People”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

On hearing this explanation, King Laman consented to make an effort to pacify his own angry armies who were already preparing further incursions into Nephite territory.

At the head of an unarmed body of Nephites, the king of the Lamanites went forth and met his armies as they were returning to attack. He explained to them what he had learned, and the Lamanites, possibly somewhat ashamed of their rash act in making war upon a peaceful people, renewed the covenant of peace which they formerly had entered into with the Nephites.
