Apparently the court functionaries made a move to seize Abinadi, since he commands them not to touch him until he has completely delivered his message. Revealingly, he affirms that he will not be “destroyed at this time.” He clearly understands that his is a fatal mission. Even in his prophetic foreknowledge of death, Abinadi accepts Yahweh’s mission.
