During the reign of King Mosiah I (the father of King Benjamin), Zeniff and his people left Zarahemla to return to the land of Nephi. Many years later, during the reign of King Benjamin’s son Mosiah II, Ammon journeyed to the land of Nephi to see what had happened to Zeniff’s people because they had not been heard from for so long (Mosiah 7:1–2). This Ammon is different from the Ammon who was one of the four sons of Mosiah II.
