“Ammon Should Stand Up Before the Multitude”

Brant Gardner

While Limhi may have given some information about Zarahemla, he is wise to yield the floor to Ammon at this point. It is more than the simple courtesy of allowing a visitor to speak. Ammon constitutes the “proof” of both Zarahemla’s existence and their hope of deliverance. In addition to being that fascinating person—a stranger in the community—Ammon was also connected with their ancestral land and could tell them about another faithful people. All of these factors made him tremendously interesting and exciting.
