“The Prophets… Did Threaten the People of Nephi”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
There can be no timidity in delivering the message of the Lord. The prophetic voice ought not be soft when the message is not gentle; indeed, “the prophets of the Lord did threaten the people of Nephi, according to the word of God,” that transgression would bring destruction. Such is ever the case. Wickedness not repented of always brings destruction in its wake. It destroys love, confidence, and respect; it destroys marriages, families, communities, and nations; it destroys any claim we have upon the blessings of heaven and any assurance we may once have had of the blessings of eternal life.
