At the end of his life, Enos’s foundational event was still his initial encounter with Yahweh in the forest. Indeed, how could it not be? Whatever revelations Enos received thereafter, that first experience was transcendent, both in the great effort which accomplished it and the power of the experience itself.

Like Jacob, Enos testifies of the coming Messiah. The potential conflict between the law and the preaching of the Messiah that Sherem proposed is certainly not present in Enos’s understanding. He understands the coming atoning Messiah and preached that understanding.
