“There Came a Voice Unto Me”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

This was not an audible voice but rather the whispering of the Lord to the heart and soul of Enos (see verse 10). The assurance that his sins had been forgiven was also the assurance that he was now worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost. As spiritual worthiness is a prerequisite for the remission of sins, so it is for the receipt of the Holy Ghost. To enjoy one is to enjoy the other.
