It does not take long before those who teach doctrines which are “pleasing unto the carnal mind” (Alma 30:53) begin to believe and practice the things they teach. Satan is the archdeceiver: he is smooth and his ways are slippery. His philosophies are appealing and his religion is captivating, particularly to those who yearn for salvation without obligation and commitment.
