“The People Having Loved Nephi Exceedingly”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Having loved their great protector, Nephi, who had selflessly labored for their welfare all his days, the people desired to preserve his name as the revered name-title of their subsequent leaders. In much the same way, other ancient peoples had governmental rulers bearing such name-titles as Thutmose, Ramses, Ben-Hadad, Tiglath-pileser, Sargon, Darius, and Xerxes.
