“Again I Say Unto You”

Rhetoric: Nephi repeats that his people must “enter… by the way” (baptism) and “receive the Holy Ghost” to know what they should do. This is not new information; but in a spoken address, repetition refocuses attention on the topic which he will use as the basis of the next section. Unlike a written text, oral texts cannot be reread to clarify the context; but repetition serves the same function.
