“Before the King of Assyria”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

The son born was given a name to remind the people of the prophecy of Isaiah, that before long the riches of Damascus and Samaria, the capital of Ephraim, would be carried in a triumphal procession before the king of Assyria, whom Ahaz had bribed. (2 Kings 16:7-9)
