The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ

Daniel H. Ludlow

In order for Jesus Christ fully to atone or pay for the transgression of Adam, it was evidently necessary for his life to be taken so that the demands of justice could be fully met. Thus it was necessary for him to live upon the earth at a time when the people would be wicked enough to take his life. Jacob mentions it was necessary that the Savior come "among those who are the more wicked part of the world" as "there is none other nation on earth that would crucify their God." (2 Nephi 10:3.)
