By revelation, Jacob had learned that the descendants of Lehi, after a long apostasy, are destined to become a righteous branch in the house of Israel. At the conclusion of one sermon and in the introduction of another he foretold of a future day when they will come again to the knowledge of Christ and be restored to his church. (See 2 Nephi 9:2.)
