“Many of Our Children Shall Perish in the Flesh Because of Unbelief”

Monte S. Nyman

This chapter is a partial account of what Jacob spoke on the second day of an apparently great Nephite conference. He promised to speak more of the covenant made to the house of Israel to raise up a righteous branch in future generations. True to his promise, this is the subject of his speech. The source of his information once more comes from a vision. He previously mentioned that he had seen Jerusalem (2 Nephi 6:8), and now he mentions having seen his own people. He had apparently seen much of what Nephi had seen, that many of his people would perish in the flesh, but would later be restored to a true knowledge of their Redeemer.
