“The Bodies and the Spirits of Men Will Be Restored One to the Other”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:21-22.)

In the resurrection the grave will release the physical bodies and the disembodied will be released from the world of spirits. In a way incomprehensible to man, the effects of the resurrection of our Maker—called in scripture the “first fruits of the resurrection”—will pass upon all.

All who have taken a body in mortality—whether demonic or saintly in character—will be lifted up by the power of the Lamb of God in immortality (see D&C 88:28-32), those who have received and obeyed the divine word being raised unto eternal life (see D&C 29:43).
