“Angry with Me Because of the Admonitions of the Lord”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

When God speaks, the righteous rejoice; whatever his admonitions, they are received with thanksgiving. Surely God speaks for no other purpose than to edify and bless his children.

By contrast, his words are a constant source of annoyance and offense to the rebellious. Offended with the message, they spew their anger upon the messenger, thus shielding themselves from the reality that their offense is with God. (See 2 Nephi 33:5.)
