Text: Verse 16 makes a transition between the future Joseph the seer and the future Moses the liberator. Lehi is still quoting Joseph of Egypt, though it is not clear how these verses are related to the previous ones. Lehi obviously added “thus prophesied Joseph,” but it is impossible to say whether the Moses texts follow the Joseph prophecy as closely as they seem to here. However, the rest of the transitional phrasing “I am sure of this thing, even as I am sure… ” gives the impression that the quotation continues with little or nothing removed.
