“Be Obedient to the Commandments, and Endure to the End”

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The principles of faith, obedience, courage, and following the counsel of the prophets are taught over and over in the Book of Mormon as basic tenets of the Lord’s covenant with his chosen people and the blessings associated with it. Nephi chooses to conclude his first book with these words: “be obedient to the commandments, and endure to the end, ye shall be saved at the last day” (1 Nephi 22:31).
