“He Remember the Covenants Which He Made to Their Fathers”

Through all of the tides of Israel’s faithfulness, the foundation of the covenant promise remains. When the scriptures ask that we “remember,” it is asking for action rather than mere cognition. Louis Midgley, professor emeritus at Brigham Young University, analyzed “remembrance” in the Book of Mormon and concludes that the Lord does not ask us to simply remember our covenants but to live up to them.
