The manna and the Liahona, both directly related to the divine provision of food, is a parallel that Nephi would easily make. The Liahona was a gift from Yahweh that provided food just as the manna was a gift from Yahweh that provided food. (See commentary accompanying 1 Nephi 16:16.) Obviously, he expects Laman and Lemuel to fill in the parallel of the Liahona as he articulates the miracle of manna.
