“Do Ye Suppose That They Would Have Been Led Out of Bondage”

Brant Gardner

Nephi again proposes an argument to which they must assent. The Israelites were released from bondage by a prophet, which was a good thing. The unmistakable parallel is their own departure from Jerusalem, as Yahweh commanded their prophet-father. Consequently, they must also assent to the proposition that had they remained in Jerusalem, they would be in bondage.
