"Molten," or "melted," describes a substance reduced to a state of fusion by means of heat, as, for instance, "molten iron." Also an object formed by melting and casting, as, for instance, a "molten image."

The use of fire in metallurgy was well known to the Hebrews. (Ex. 32:24)
